Roland FP-30X Black — 88-Key Portable Digital Piano with PHA-4 Action

The Roland FP-30X Black is a slim, portable 88-key digital piano bringing the flagship-stage keyboard feel into a compact body. Built around the PHA-4 Standard hammer-action keyboard with escapement and ivory-feel key surfaces, the FP-30X delivers the same weighted response found in higher-tier models. Players who seek authentic acoustic-piano touch in a body that travels between home, studio, and stages will find it ideal.

What Sets the FP-30X Apart

Running on Roland's BMC chipset paired with the proven SuperNATURAL Piano engine, this model produces a dynamic range beyond its predecessor. Outperforming typical portable pianos, dual 11W stereo speakers give the instrument presence without external amplification. Twin Piano, Dual layering, and Split functions can be accessed from the front panel or via the Piano Every Day app.

Keyboard Feel and Touch Response

At the heart of any portable piano is the weighted keyboard, and this model uses the same action as Roland's premium line.

• Keys: 88 full-size — complete range for classical repertoire
• Progressive hammer weighting with escapement and ivory-feel surfaces brings an acoustic-like playing experience to your fingertips.
• Touch Sensitivity: 5 types plus fixed touch — match response to your playing style

SuperNATURAL Piano Engine and Polyphony

Layered tonal modeling, powered by SuperNATURAL, captures the dynamic behavior of an acoustic instrument across the full range.

• Sound Engine: SuperNATURAL Piano — expressive tonal transitions from pianissimo to fortissimo
• Polyphony: 256 notes — sustains clarity through layered passages and heavy pedal use
• With 56 onboard tones and 321 via app, you have access to pianos, E-pianos, organs, strings, pads, and drums for all genres.

Speakers, Bluetooth, and Connectivity

For practice, lessons, or recording, wireless and wired connectivity provide flexibility.

• Built-in Speakers: 12 cm x 2 with 11 W x 2 output — full-range stereo sound for home and small-stage use
• Bluetooth: Audio Ver 3.0 / MIDI Ver 4.0 — stream play-along tracks and connect to music apps wirelessly
• DAW integration and audio playback are possible thanks to USB B and USB A ports for both computer and memory devices.
• Outputs: 1/4" L/Mono, R line outs; dual headphone jacks (3.5 mm and 1/4") — connect to PA or practice silently

Who Should Choose the Roland FP-30X Black

This model is well-suited for advancing students, home musicians, and gigging keyboardists who need real weighted action in a portable 14.8 kg chassis. The 88-key PHA-4 Standard keyboard suits classical repertoire and exam prep, while Bluetooth and USB support modern lesson apps and DAW-based production. Performing musicians benefit from stereo line outputs and powerful onboard speakers; teachers appreciate Twin Piano mode for side-by-side lessons. The Piano Designer app enables control over lid position and resonance, and the included DP-2 pedal switch can be upgraded to the DP-10 damper pedal for half-pedaling.
